Weaving

There are many ways to create artwork. One of them is weaving. Every time the bell rings at 11:30 a.m I head to one of the farthest classroom in our school, the Art class. There are several activities to be completed throughout the quarter during this class. Each grade learns different things and techiniques. Sometimes we have free time and we can do what we like, such as drawing or painting, but we usually stay focus on our learning and do projects. Right now, this quarter, every time I get to this class I get my work which is a needle and string and you go up and down to form a drawing, this is called weaving. All we have done so far are two projects. The first one was easier. We had three colors and two strings from each. At first, when I passed a round I noticed how tight my strings were. My teacher told me that it was because I was putting too much tension on my weaving, so I loosen up, but made sure that they weren’t too lose. When I finished I notice a pattern. This pattern created a wearable oject, such as a braclet or a belt. Now I am working on a project that was assigned to us, but it is more challenging. First, you create a design on a piece of paper. I decided to do a palm tree in an island. We had to pick at least four colors. Then you paste it into a cardboard and then set it up. It gets kind of tiring because all you do is weave and it’s suppose to be relaxing, but I just get bored. I guess I have no choice because if you chose an elective you’re to do what your told and the teacher won’t change an activity just because you don’t like it.
